How to use the survey

You are helping the team build a reliable walking map. Record real entrances and paths so we can later review local fare zones. You do not need to draw fare zones here.

Before you startGo to the place in person. Use your phone with location permission turned on. The background map is a guide; check what is actually open and walkable.
01 · Entrance

Mark where people actually enter

Stand at the accessible entrance. Choose Entrance, enter the place name, then tap Capture my current position once. You can also tap Pick on map and select the exact entrance. Save the draft point.

For a junction or gate, choose that point type. The tool creates IDs such as africa-hall-entrance-01 or shaba-gate-01. Reuse an existing point if it marks the same physical spot.

02 · Place

Connect the place to its entrance

Choose the hostel, hall or vendor from the Worklist. Select the entrance point you just saved, then tap Save draft site. Keep the existing IDs for places already listed, including Shaba and Wilkado.

If a place is missing, choose New site and give it the name used locally. The tool creates its ID.

03 · Path

Draw the route people walk

Choose the From and To points. Tap Draw path, then tap the map at each bend along the real walking route. Tap Save draft path when finished. The path ID is made from its endpoints.

Choose Both directions only if you checked both ways. Mark a blocked path Closed; leave uncertain access as Not checked.

04 · Review

Verify what you saw, then save

In Review, select a record, add a field reference such as field-survey:2026-11-07:walk-01, confirm that you checked it on location, then tap Mark verified. Verify entrance points before places and paths. If GPS accuracy is worse than 20 metres, retake the point first.

Tap Save for team after a small batch. Your changes stay on this phone until you save or export a backup. If another person saved first, export your backup, reload the shared map, then reapply your changes.

What happens next? The team reviews the saved observations and walking connections before drawing fare zones. Saving a survey does not change customer prices.
